“Los Hombres Morimos Antes” (Men die Sooner) in post-production
A project very dear to me is on its way to being completed. “Men Die Sooner” is a feature-length film directed and written by Costa Rican Federico Montero, for which I did a years long script consultancy process, workshopping its development (guiding the character arc design, plot, thematic undercurrents and structure), and giving feedback on several versions of the script. Fede’s process was extremely emotional and awe-inducing. It took long years of visiting and re-visiting the feelings, themes and ideas that make this movie an outstanding thesis on masculinity and the ways we rupture (or not) the patterns set in our families. I can’t wait to see these ideas and characters turned into images, light and sound!
