Luisa

I was born in 1989 in San José, Costa Rica. I studied in Guionarte Screenwriting School in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I live and love in Stockholm since 2021.

I work alongside producers, directors and artists in fiction films, video-art, sound narratives and creative documentaries to mediate between imagination, vision and words.

During my career, I have been instrumental in helping the independent filmmakers and creators I’ve worked with to develop or finish their scripts.

My approach is based on character observation and theme exploration. I work methodically but thrive on experimenting (if that makes sense).

I love and can work with all kinds of stories and genres, but prefer those that at their core explore and amplify complex social issues, such as gender dynamics, human and nature rights and attachment.

I live to work in projects that take the observation and investigation process seriously and feed on the real world to thread the line between reality and fiction.

I have worked closely with production companies such as HOB AB Films, Sisyfos Film Production, Noche Negra Producciones and La Linterna Films, producers such as Rita Walsh, Ashley Smith and Nima Yousefi, and directors such as Gabrielle Brady, Nathalie Alvarez Mesén and Kim Torres.

  • Luz Nocturna (2022) competed for short film Palme D'Or at the 75th Cannes Film Festival.

    If We Don’t Burn How Do We Light up The Night (2025) premiered at San Sebastián Film Festival’s New Directors competition.

    The films I have script consulted have been shown in numerous festivals and won awards and funds.

    I was a juror at the IDA (International Documentary Awards) in 2022, and a mentor at the Pop-Up Film Residency in Fårö, Sweden.

  • Writer of 4 fiction feature films and 2 creative documentary features.

    Script consultant for projects in countries such as Brasil, Colombia, Mexico, United States and Ireland and Sweden.

    Published writer of poetry and short stories.

  • I live and work alongside my sound design partner Gustav Magnusson Holm. We have a child together. I love to paint and dance.

    I have a higher education diploma in teaching English as a second language and study Linguistics in Stockholm.

  • I can speak, write and work fluently in Spanish, English and Swedish.

    I have studied intermediate French and Italian.
